Question Hey I read your mini story. You sound like a fighter. You are very brave. My boyfriend also has diabetes. Will all of this happen to him? He has type 1 Juvenile Diabetes. What can I do to help?
Thanks
Lindsay
Answer Hi Lindsay, thanks for writing. If he does nottake care of himself andthe diabetes then yes, it is likely he can have the same complication. As for what you can do, well you can't force him to do the right things, this will just drive him to do more wrong to prove he can. I know, thats what I was like. He has to want to take care of the disease. If you live together or you haveinfluence over what he eats, try to suggest diabetic foods whenever possible. Gentle nucging and support is all you can really offer him. Thank you for the compliment but it isn't really bravery, I just prefer living to the alternative. Small joke there.
Anyway hope this has helped and if you have further questions please feel free to write again.
Good Luck
Brian
