Question QUESTION: Hi, I have been a diabetic since age 40 and am now 61. This Spring, I split my 1st toe after my big toe on my left foot Went to a doctor, but it did not heal. Treated it myself with hydrogen peroxide and the meds the doctor gave me. Now it is healed but a dark skin tone is within my foot. A nurse, who deals with the elderly, said it needed Cipro Chronic treatment. What is this treatment and can I do this at home. I take care of my feet and look at them daily.
ANSWER: Hi Fred, thanks for writing. The dark coloring may be from an infection within the foot. Cipro is an antibiotic type medication and the term chronic refers to the infection being a returning illness because in diabetics it is very difficult to get rid of an infection such as this. We must also be careful not to become immune to the antibiotics on the market, this can happen after prolonged use. For more information on cipro and the chronic treatment program you can go to, http://www.cipro.com/scripts/index.php.
I hope this helps and if you have any other questions please do not hesitate to write again.

QUESTION: Hi went to the page that you posted, to me. Notified that the page could not be found. Is http://www.cipro.com/scripts/index.php correct or is something missing?
Answer Hi Fred, that is the link that opens on my pc. You may want to try www.cipro.com and see where it takes you. What I did originally was copy "Cipro Chronic treatment" and then paste it into the yahoo search. It was the first answer. Cipro is a product of Bayer. I hope this gets you into the site.
Good Luck
Brian
