Question
i have endo and i am 16 weeks pregnant. i have been having severe pain and been to the er twice. They say nothing is wrong but on my discharge papers it is written as a threatened abortion. Should i be worried that this is the case and my baby will not make it?

Answer
Hi Ashley
Any endo woman does run the risk of miscarrying...however, keeping in close touch with your doctor will help prevent this. I know many endo woman that have had misses but then conceived after that...and they have multiple children! And then again some are just fine during pregnancy. Do not worry!! You are also nearly thru the first trimester, too...that's good.

Endometriosis can cause infertility in many women, but with proactive treatment, the possibility of pregnancy is increased. Discuss treatment options with your doctor to decide what would be the best course to take to increase your chances of pregnancy.

I wish you a world of good luck with this pregnancy!!!

I do not possess any medical affiliation or education...I have, however, been diagnosed with Endo and have had severe pain since I was 13. I am now 50 and have tried it all...I am not close enough yet to menopause to rule out a painful period. I stopped all treatment of hormones due to harsh side effects. I have been through it all with this condition and can truely empathize with other sufferers.
