Question QUESTION: Despite that you may be unable to answer my q i decided to make a try.What i am trying to learn is the minimum amount of money that is needed to invest in alternative energy.
I am talking about a business investment.
Do you know any examples.I am not speaking about the kind of investment giants like BP or Shell can do.
A decent start-up venture is what i have in mind.
Just give me a clue that will help me to get an idea.

ANSWER: I have heard of solar panels for a generating sufficient energy to run a single household. It was estimated at $18000 for a single family energy use/consumption. That did not sound unreasonable. That was 2 years ago. The only issue was the amount of space required to set up the panels.

Answer Part of your issues, will be access to various size and outputs. It is a great idea. It does sell itself with the proper calcs. I was going to do such for a new home I was preparing to build...but access to the information and access to the product made too time consuming. You may want to seek brand Names and see if they are looking for distributors.
