English as a Second Language/2 more ques.
Hi Amy ..it is Dev again...thank a ton for answering all my questions.I am so grateful to you.
I have 2 questions for you today.
First is related to my previous question.sentence ending with 'seen' if you remember.
The actual context of the matter is --people were forced to leave their town as they were attacked by enemy forces. To save their life they have to cross a flooding river. After crossing river when they reach a safe spot they look back from there and see their houses burning. So can you please try again to end the sentence with the word seen. The original poem is in Punjabi languge and i have to translate it to English.
My second question is that sometime i have a very tough time when I have to ask questions starting with words like have/has, are/did etc...how can I improve.please guide
unfortunately, I've exhausted all options when trying to help you with your translation. Please review my past answers to you, I have provided you there with plenty of options for you to choose from. Unfortunately I'm just an ESL teacher, and writing/translating poetry is not my strongest point.
As far as your second question - you need to focus on practicing the following verb tenses:
- Present Perfect (have has) http://www.englishpage.com/verbpage/presentperfect.html
- Present Tense Continuous (am, are, is) http://www.englishpage.com/verbpage/presentcontinuous.html
- Past Tense (did) http://www.englishpage.com/verbpage/simplepast.html
- Present Tense Simple (do does) http://www.englishpage.com/verbpage/simplepresent.html
