Answer
Hello Nilo,

What do these sentences mean?
Sorry to break up the evening, but I've got to get back.
I've never heard the expression "break up the evening" and to be honest I doubt it's a correct expression.

You're breaking up. I will ring u back on the land line.

You're breaking up - means that the people are talking on the phone and the connection is bad, thus they can't hear each other well.
I will ring you back on the land line - means I will call you back on your regular phone.

What does on the land line mean? The land line is the typical telecommunication connection by cable; also known as home phone, or fixed line. It's pretty much any phone that uses a wire for transmitting the signal.

The sentences above are most likely part of a mobile/cell phone conversation between two people.

also, one of my pet peeves - we don't write "u" in formal English, it's "you".

Can you explain me about the grammar of has/have got to?When should I use it?
