Question
Hi Amy

Would you please tell me what does this sentence mean?

"But there was no getting around the fact that combating climate change was going to be a hard political sell at a time when the world was already reeling from a global financial crisis."

Best,

Hossein Saeedi

Answer
There was no way to ignore the fact that combating climate change was going to be a difficult idea to "sell" when the world was already shaken by a global financial crisis.

Selling the idea here means to make others accept the idea.

I hope this helps, Hossein. If not, feel free to follow up and let me know which part you still need clarified.
