Expert: Jack DeAngelis - 11/7/2009

Question
I was cleaning my apartment today when I found something on the floor I thought it was a pebble or a lil part of a leaf so I picked it up to my surprise I picked up a dead bug! ahh so now im freaking out because i dont know what the bug was It was red with 6 or 8 legs I was too freaked out to remember and it's butt or head was like the top of a whoppie cushion and its body was round in shape he was dead and curled up by my clean laundry can you help me find out what this bug is with pictures so i know that it is the bug i saw? thanks

Answer
Brandi,

I don't know what kind of bug you found but since 99% of insects are harmless I'm sure this one is too. All I can suggest is that you try to get a better look at it if you see another, or better yet get a picture. If you want to look at a bunch of bug pictures to see if anything looks familiar try http://www.bugguide.net and use the search box.
