Entomology (Study of Bugs) - white worms in bathtub

Expert: Jack DeAngelis - 11/5/2009

Question
In recent days I have been noticing little (3/8-1/2) inch long white worms/larvae with little black heads in my bath tub.  My husband took apart a piece of the tub fixtures and found one in behind it can you help with what they are?

Answer
Angie,

I'm afraid I'll need a picture because there are a number of insect larvae that match your description. Was the area behind the tub wet? Was there mold growing? Post a follow up and I'll help you figure this out.
