unknown bug
My wife was worried about all the bed bug drama and wondered what these bugs were that are 1/8 inch long.  many were found dead at the carpet edge by our head board.  2 alive between sheets and the comforter.

Answer
Jim,

These are larvae of dermestid carpet beetles (see http://www.livingwithbugs.com/carpet_beetle.html for pictures of larvae and adults). For comparison here is a picture of a bed bug http://www.livingwithbugs.com/bed_bug.html and control info. Post a follow up if you have questions.
