Entomology (Study of Bugs)/Carpenter bees on scale detrimental to beneficial

Question
Use 0 - 10.

Every day they trample all open Pentas flowers (read: butterfly food)
which abruptly wither.

Usually these bees are few there, so, my thought is to
net and destroy them individually;
unless you expect replacements very soon to arrive.

Answer
q,

I'm not sure I understand your question but carpenter bees should not be damaging the flowers, are you certain that the damage is being caused by the bees? I would hesitate to destroy the bees because they are good pollinators of other plants. You might want to contact your local Extension office regarding suggestions for growing this plant. Sorry I can't be more specific.
