This bug only seems to be in our one room. We find it mostly on our couch or carpet area and hasn't bit anyone.

Answer
Shannon,

This is one of the dermestid carpet beetles, there are several different species. See http://www.livingwithbugs.com/carpet_beetle.html for more pictures. Larvae feed on a variety of organic materials, often stored food like dry pet food in home.
