Iíve been reading about energy bars made with ground-up crickets. Are crickets safe for humans to eat?

Answer
Yes, crickets have been eaten by human beings for tens of thousands of years and are safe to eat.  But...  if the crickets have been exposed to pesticides, then you can eat pesticides when you eat the crickets.  ON a recent trip to China, we saw street vendors selling roasted crickets on a stick.
