Question
Dorenes Caterpillar
Dorenes Caterpillar
My sister lives in Maine took this photo of a grey caterpillar with pink and orange markings. Can you please help us identify as we were unable to find information on the web.

Answer
Hi Caroline
Sorry this took so long but this an unusual caterpillar that I have never seen before. I believe it is a catapillar of a Prominent Moth of the Family Notodontidae. This is a group of extremely diverse caterpillars and this is a caterpilla rin the early stage of development.
