Question
wasp?
wasp?

tussock moth caterpillar?
tussock moth caterpill
I had a caterpillar that was supposed to be a tussock moth. I looked up the caterpillar and as I said it was supposed to be a tussock moth, Yet it hatched today and it is a wasp looking bug. Do you know what this is?

Answer
Seems strange doesn't it Kristina.
What has happened here is that a wasp ,possibly a  Braconid wasp) has lais an egg inside the caterpillar. The egg hatches and the wasp matures feeding on the caterpilar and what emerges? An adult wasp. Wasps are common parasites on caterpillars
