Entomology (Study of Bugs)/Insect identification

Bug 1
Bug 1
I found this bug in my basement laundry room in the Chicago area.  I think it's a click? beetle.. Please confirm so I know whether I should be concerned.

Hello C,

You are correct. This is a click beetle (Elateridae). There is no reason for concern-- they aren't considered to be pests and won't cause any damage to the room/laundry. Sometimes they are found inside when it it hot outside. Thanks for the great photo and question!
