Entomology (Study of Bugs)/Bug

Question
QUESTION: My son's room has these on the floor, not a lot, we thought it was just lint or dirt at first.  They've showed up over the last few weeks.  We'd vacuum and they would return.  No bites, mattress is clean.  They are odd shapes and sizes.  Some are kind of translucent.  Any ideas.

ANSWER: Jason,

Can you post a picture?

It almost looks like scabs?

Answer
They do look like scabs/dried blood. Are they concentrated in one area or scattered around the room? Do you have a pet that has access to this room? My guess is they are being scratched off something or someone. Sorry I can't be more specific.
