there r tiny brown bugs all over my deck. it is winter but it is very damp out. the bugs jump if u touch anywhere near them. what r they?

Answer
Hi Susan
These are Springtails or Collembola. They appear during moist conditions in large numbers and soon just disappear. They are the most numerous insects on Earth and are quite harmless, feeding upon bacteria and fungus spores. They are everywhere and often found on snow where they are called snowfleas.
They will soon be gone
