Question
Bug
Bug
I have occasionally seen these bugs when I make the bed in the morning. Usually dead but this one was living. I've looked for an I.D. But nothing seems to match, can you help please? We live in North England by the way! Thank you

Answer
Very common insect.  This is a type of carpet beetle.  Totally harmless to people.  They eat organic material like wool carpets, jute carpet backing, etc.  Every house has them, and they don't bother the people.  They will, however, eat little bits of your carpets!

Here is an article from a well-respected university in California about getting rid of carpet beetles, if you choose to get rid of them
