Hi, i'm Zulaiha and i live in Jordan.
starting from this springs, there's one species of insect appeared that i haven't encountered before. it is very tiny, and when it bites, it left red marks and the itchiness stays for days. it bothers us a lot as it is so itchy that we can't stop ourselves from scratching it till it bleeds.

thank you for spending your time to answer my question.

Dear Zulaiha - This is a sand fly (Diptera: Psychodidae); it looks like one in the genus Phlebotomus  - see for an example. You should take every precaution to avoid being bitten by these insects, as they can vector the parasitic disease leishmaniasis - see for details.
Hope this helps,

Will accept most questions in general entomology, including those related to medical entomology, taxonomy, ecology, arthropod surveillance, and pest management. If you are requesting a 'mystery bug' identification, PLEASE either attach an image to your question, or post an image on a web page (such as Flickr) so that I can look at it, as verbal descriptions frequently are insufficient for a definitive identification.
