Question Scientists claim that towards the end of the century a solution to the serious energy problem will be found. What will it be?
Answer The media promote the idea of “some scientists” stating that solutions for global warming will be available by the “end of the century”. The reality is that the vast majority of scientists and physicists everywhere know that the world’s power requirements can be supplied by using nuclear energy now. They also know that nuclear energy, despite media claims, is practical, economical, and safer than all other major sources of industrial power.
As well as that we no longer need oil to run our transport systems. We use biofuels. Biofuels are now cheaper than petroleum fuels and are totally greenhouse gas neutral.
Add to that we switch to organic type agriculture which will sequest the excess carbon dioxide, now in the air, into enriching soil fertility.
Promoting the concept that some unnamed magical system will be invented during the next century is the effective strategy the oil, coal and gas industries use to guarantee they stay in business.
