Question Do you know where I can get a list of the hooker chemical dumpsites? Back in 2001 I found a web site that gave a list of their dumpsites on it but it disappeared or went down permanently. The town that I live in was in that list Austin Pennsylvania. There are many cancers and MS cases along with one person having a problem with her nerve endings blowing out strokes heart problems and a lot of depression there have even been teenagers that have killed them selves because of it. The population in Austin Pennsylvania is 572 but it is also known as the headwaters of the Susquehanna river!
Answer I used to work for Hooker Chemical. I don't know where the old dump sites are. You should check with your State government (Environmental Agency) about state and federal Superfund and disposal sites. Most of them should be listed by now.
If you think that there is a potential public health concern, contact the Pennsylvania State Health Department and see if you can get them to run an health study on your community. They might be able to start and investigation.
You need proof that there is 1) a cause for concern which must be documented and available for inspection by a credible professional health or public health official, and 2) a finding of probable cause such as the existence of chemicals in the groundwater. If you find groundwater contamination you have a much stronger case.
