Question
I understand the etymology of the word partner and have read that its first use was in 1611, but would you the context, or even the example of its use?

Answer
Hello, I hope that you're having a wonderful week.
The word "partner" came to English from the Latin word "partitionem"defined at the time as portion or partition;  We next see the word "Partnier" in Old French (altered to "parciner) meaning one who shares.
The word "partner" first surfaced in English in about 1300.
I hope that this is helpful.
The very best to you always.
