Dear Sirs,
so far I've met pear-shaped in description of a chin on a male face. Logically it can be a round with a quirk (no restriction to its ballistic character).
I can't say that every wedding ball with fireworks or without resembles it. Sometimes. Even less I think two marriages/balls or four, six, eight at one and the same time or within some period of time are necessary to make events or news pear-shaped.
Sincerely.
