Question
Hello

Ive read something on this, but again, its tough to understand when they start speeaking of cytochrom c of birds and animals.

Could you maybe give me a basic explaination, so i can understand this?

Thanks
Husain

Answer
Dear Husain,

You can find a good explanation here:

http://books.google.com/books?id=n-C9qW5UPL4C&pg=PA244&lpg=PA244&dq=molecular+cl...

Don't be offended by the title of the book ("Evolution for Dummies")--it's just a series of books with that title that's supposed to be funny.  But they're actually not bad at giving explanations about things to people with little or no background.  :)

Hope that helps.  But please write back if it's confusing.

Dana
P.S. - a neutral mutation is one that does not affect the individual who bears it, and so it should be passed along without helping or harming the individual's chance of reproducing; it is selectively neutral.
