Excel - Unwanted Shaded Pattern on my Spreadsheet

Expert: Aidan Heritage - 3/27/2008

Question
Whenever I create a spreadsheet and hightlight any part, after I send it, it is received with a shaded pattern on whatever part I had highlighted. I can open it back up and remove the pattern but as soon as I send it again, it shows up; no color, just the shaded pattern. Please help.

Answer
Excel remembers settings, so the cursor position and active sheet (for example) are saved with the sheet - when you send the sheet, you are effectively saving it.  Having a range of cells selected will result in those cells being shaded, and that is something that is saved with the sheet - IF you need to send it without a selection, move the cursor to another cell before sending.
