Question Hello:
I'm designing an order form for literature but I have a counting problem. Is there a way to display the current entry number of text in a range? For example; if I'm handing out books on a first-come-first-serve basis, I need to know who ordered it first, second, third, etc. An example:
Red -- 1
Blue -- 1
Green -- 1
Red -- 2
Green -- 2
Red -- 3
Green -- 3
I see that =count or =countif will give me the entire count the item from a list but I just need to display the current customer order position with a formula and autofill it straight down. Any help would be appreciated!

Better try your explanation again because I don't have any idea what you are asking for.
If you are handing out books on first-come-first served, what difference does it make what order they were ordered in? The guy is there for his book: he ordered it; you give it to him. Do you look up if he ordered it third, and not give it to him if the guy who ordered it first hasn't picked his up yet?
I also have no idea what you mean by red-1, green-1, red-2, green -2, repeated over and over.
And what do you mean by the "current entry number of text in a range"? And then you apparently refer to the same thing as the "current customer order position". And why would you want to "autofill it straight down"?
Please clarify all this, restate your problem, and then I can help you.
