Excel - Excel question

Question
Hello, I hope you may be able to help me with a problem I am having with Excel.

I am a commodities trader and I have Excel linked to one of my trading programs. I have so much information coming in so quickly that I can fill up all 65000 rows in Excel too fast. I have a formula that adds up all the numbers as they come in to the spreadsheet in real time. The problem I am having is as the numbers leave the bottom of the spreadsheet, they are subtracted from my total. Despite the fact this is an automatic Excel function, is there a way to remove this function so the bottom number does not get subtracted and continues to add?

I hope I am explaining this in such a way you understand. Basically what I am trying to do is have all the numbers that come in continue to add up and ones that get bumped off the spreadsheet (from the bottom) not be subtracted from the total. Once the number is added to the total, I do not care about that number.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter,

Sincerely,

Devin Taylor

Answer
I’m tempted to suggest getting office 2007 which has a higher row count, but I suspect you would still fill the data.  Alternatively, an access database could be the answer as this could hold as much data as you want (within reason!).  Otherwise, it would need to use some form of VBA to handle the maths.  I'm happy to help if I can in any way - my email is aidan.heritage@virgin.net
