Question
I am using Excel 2004 on a Mac os 10.4 computer.
I have a list of 1300 names and address, each having the persons name and address in the same cell. In order turn it into a mailing list I need to separate the name into a separate cell from the address. Is there a way to do this without copy and pasting all 1300 names?
Thanks

Answer
What I don't know is how the data is formatted - what seperates the name from the address?  If for example it was the first instance of a comma, then it could be done with string functions (search, left, right) - if you can update me on this I can try and help further - if it is of any use, you can email me at aidan.heritage@virgin.net
