Question
Hi
I have a table which has:
- Name
- Gender
- Achieved December
- Achieved April
- Achieved July

under achieved dec/april/july it has either "steady", "above" or "concern"

anyway i was wondering if it is possible to create a formula so if the gender colum has an M or an F in it it looks up to see what percentage of Males/females have steady/concern/above or something similar. so if say there is a class of 30 and twelve boys is it possible to create a formula where the formula looks up to see which ones are male and then gives me the percentage of the levels etc?  or even for the whole class regardless of gender?
thank you very much

Answer
This can be done using a "PivotTable"  To start a PivotTable take the following steps:

1. For your raw data, make sure each column of data has a title
2. Click somewhere on the raw data
3. Select the "Data" drop down menu
4. Select "PivotTable and PivotChart Report..."

This will bring up a popup menu for creating a PivotTable and PivotChart

5. Follow along the directions of the "PivotTable and PivotChart Report Wizard"
6. Once you are finished creating the PivotTable, you can use it to get the data you desire.
