Excel/makeing cells different coulers on witch letter is in them

i would like to change a cells couler depending on what letter is in them so if i put a in a cell it would be green but if i but b in the sam cell it would be red and so on for 6 other coulers and letters as well can you help?

Here is how you can do it.
First paint or make active all of the cells that you want to format.

Then go to toolbar/conditional formating, click on highlight cell rules, click on cells are equal to, put in an a, then select the format that you want in the box to the right. then click ok.
Repeat the process for each of the special formatting criteria that you want.

Hope this helps.
