Hi Tom

I have a spreadsheet with "Oct-12" in cell a1 on one tab.  I want to get "31 Oct 12" in cell f3 on another tab.  The month/date will change each month, so I am looking for a formula to go in cell f3 that will pick up the last day of the month from the month name in cell a1.  Is there one?

assuming cell A1 actually contains a date and it is formatted to appear as Oct-12 then

format the cell to appear as you wish.

if not, if it actually contains the text string Oct-12, then the above still worked for me, but if it doesn't then you can try

but I think the first formula should work.
