Question
Q. I have some data from which i want to pull data using any formula or trick. I used Vlookup function but unable to retrive all data next by next . Ex: If i put Name 'D' it should show me only on cell showing the date i.e.1/1/2011,6/1/2011 & 7/1/2011 one below under..and if put Name 'A' it show me only date showing 1/1/2011 as these are the only dates which a name can retrive.. dummy data listed below

Name    Date
A       1/1/2011
B       1/1/2011
C       1/1/2011
C       3/1/2011
D       1/1/2011
D       6/1/2011
D       7/1/2011
E       1/1/2011
F       15/1/2011
F       21/1/2011

This is the dummy data . Please resolve this question as i am unable to resolve it from last 3 days. i have tried vlookup fuction, drag on lookup, removing duplicates etc..but nothing works on it, when i am applying vlookup it only shows me the date which is listed below the table for that name say 'A' or 'D'.
Autofilter, Pivottable will work but does not want do autofilter in sheet.
Thanks in advance,
Sumit

Answer
Hi Sumit,

Assuming that the provided example data is present from A1:B11 and the input value (i.e.) A in D1 cell.

In D2 cell - For 2007 or higher versions
=IFERROR(INDEX($B$2:$B$11,SMALL(IF(($A$2:$A$11=D$1),ROW($B$2:$B$11)-1),ROW(A1))),"")
Drag it down

In D2 cell - For 2003 version
=IF(ISERR(SMALL(IF(($A$2:$A$11=D$1),ROW($B$2:$B$11)-1),ROW(A1))),"",INDEX($B$2:$B$11,SMALL(IF(($A$2:$A$11=D$1),ROW($B$2:$B$11)-1),ROW(A1))))

Hope that helps!
