Excel/Macro issue

Question
Hi Tom
I have recorded the following macro:

Sub hideneeds()
'
' hideneeds Macro
'

'
   Range("A1").Select
   Sheets("Sheet2rng").Select
   Range("J2:K1500").Select
   Selection.Cut

   Range("DA2").Select
   ActiveSheet.Paste
   Range("A1").Select
   Sheets("SPtemplate2").Select
   Range("A1").Select
   Calculate

End Sub

This macro was created from worksheet “SPtemplate2”.  When it has performed its function, it will return to worksheet “SPtemplate2”.
I would like to run this macro from any worksheet and return to the worksheet from which it was activated.  So let’s say I was in worksheet “Sheet1”.  Once the macro has performed its function the workbook would return to worksheet “Sheet1”.

Is this possible?

Chris Mitchell

Answer
Christopher Mitchell,

This would be my guess:

Sub hideneeds()
'
' hideneeds Macro
'
Dim sh as Worksheet
'
  set sh = ActiveSheet
  Range("A1").Select
  Sheets("Sheet2rng").Select
  Range("J2:K1500").Select
  Selection.Cut

  Range("DA2").Select
  ActiveSheet.Paste
  Range("A1").Select
  sh.Select
  Range("A1").Select
  Calculate

End Sub
