Question
Goal: Find last row and insert value in each row from last to first

Code:

lastrow = cells(rows.count,1).end(xlup).row

Write to each row:

Worksheets("Sheet2").Cells(1, lastrow).value = xmldoc.text

Answer
Achilles,

lastrow = cells(rows.count,1).end(xlup).row

Write to each row:

Worksheets("Sheet2").Cells(1, "A").Resize(lastrow, 1).value = xmldoc.text

or

Worksheets("Sheet2").Range("A1:A" & lastrow).Value = xmldoc.txt

I could also do

Worksheets("Sheet2").Cells(1, 1).Resize(lastrow, 1).value = xmldoc.text

but I used "A" just to clarify that I was referring to a column.

-------<your code>-----------
Worksheets("Sheet2").Cells(1, lastrow).value = xmldoc.text

just refers to a single cell.  Say the variable lastrow held the value 26, then it would refer to

cells(1, 26)   which is Z1     Cells(  row,  column)
