You are here:

Excel/and / or condition parenthesis

Dear Tom!

Long time no see! I hope You are well!
I do not use VBA daily and now hooked up on a conditon problem with or / and. I hope You can help me out...
Where shell I put parenthesis for the code below to have solution for this:
If c1=A or c1=B and c2<>A or c2<>B then c3=Y

If (ActiveCell.Offset(0, -25) = "A" Or ActiveCell.Offset(0, -25) = "B") And (ActiveCell.Offset(0, -22) <> "A" Or ActiveCell.Offset(0, -22) <> "B") Then ActiveCell.Offset(0, -30) = "Y"

I would appreciate some assistance...
All the best!

If c1=A or c1=B and c2<>A or c2<>B then c3=Y

would be

If (c1=A or c1=B) and c2<>A and c2<>B then c3=Y

So in  your first example I assume, you want C1 to be A or B   AND C2 to not be either A or B to perform the action as I show above, then you need to modify your code in the same way.

If (ActiveCell.Offset(0, -25) = "A" Or ActiveCell.Offset(0, -25) = "B") AND ActiveCell.Offset(0, -22) <> "A" AND ActiveCell.Offset(0, -22) <> "B" Then ActiveCell.Offset(0, -30) = "Y"
