Excel/Select a cell and enter the current date
I would like to create a macro that I will assign to a button that will select in column A the next empty cell and enter a specified date.
I assume you will use an ActiveX commandbutton, so assuming the name of this commandbutton is commandbutton1, then this would be the click event for that button to achieve what you describe.
It should go in the sheet module of the sheet with the commandbutton.
Private Sub CommandButton1_Click()
Dim r As Range
Set r = Me.Cells(Me.Rows.Count, "A").End(xlUp)
If Len(Trim(r)) <> 0 Then Set r = r.Offset(1, 0)
.Value = Date
.NumberFormat = "mmm dd, yyyy"
"enter a specified date"
I have it written to put in today's date. You can alter that to whatever the specified date is.
