You are here:

Excel/Military Time and Date

How do I format a cell where both mm/dd/yy and 00:00 military time is included?  I want to be able to type in 0000 and get the colon in the middle.

Hi Geri,

In the formula bar or the cell where you want the time and date to appear, type: =now()
The result will be 2/19/2013 13:10
If you want the date to show as 02/19/13, then with the cell selected, go to the custom date/time field and edit it to show: mm/dd/yy h:mm

I hope this works for you.
