Excel/paste values

Hi Tom
Is it possible to write a macro that will do the following?:

Select  the whole of column "m" on sheet 1
Copy and paste values to a given  column on sheet 2, let's say column "d"

However if column "d" on sheet 2 is populated with any  numbers or words the information should be pasted into the next available column.

Thanks in advance
Chris Mitchell

Perhaps this

Sub ABC()
Dim sh1 As Worksheet, sh2 As Worksheet, i As Long
Set sh1 = Worksheets("Sheet1")
Set sh2 = Worksheets("Sheet2")
For i = 4 To 20  ' change 20 to reflect when you want to stop looking for an empty column
 If Application.Count(sh2.Columns(i)) = 0 Then
    sh2.Columns(i).PasteSpecial xlValues
    MsgBox "Copied to columns " & i
    Exit For
 End If
 If i = 20 Then
    MsgBox "No available columns"
 End If
End Sub
