# Excel/Sum two vlookup value

Question
Hey Jerry,

Hope all is well. I just wanted to find out a formula that would sum up two vlookup value and returned blank if #N/A is returned.

Can this be possible?

Regards,
Bill

Excel 2007 introduced the IFERROR() function that makes it easy to turn errors into something else.

=OriginalFormula

=IFERROR(OriginalFormula, 0)

So, summing two VLOOKUP formulas is easy:

=VLOOKUP(A1, B:C, 2, 0) + VLOOKUP(A2, B:C, 2, 0)

Now wrap those if IFERROR to eliminate the errors:

=IFERROR(VLOOKUP(A1, B:C, 2, 0), 0) + IFERROR(VLOOKUP(A2, B:C, 2, 0), 0)
