I'm trying to reduce costs over 3 years, 1 reduction each year, by reducing 4 different expense items in order, until I reach my goal. can you help me with a formula.
IF A-B>O, SUBTRACT BALANCE FROM C,
IF C>0, SUBTRACT BALANCE FROM D,
IF D>0, SUBTRACT BALANCE FROM E,
IF E>0, sUBTRACT BALANCE FROM F
TABLE; A=CURRENT COST, B=TARGET, C,D,E,AND F ARE EXPENSES THAT WILL NEED TO BE REDUCED IN THAT ORDER AS NEEDED.
I am not quite understanding how or where you want the result to appear.
For example---Do you want year 1 reduction to appear on a line, with year 2 on the next line etc. Since you want to spread this over three years, do you want to spread the reduction necessary over the three years evenly, etc. etc using what is available in each expense category and then partially the remaining, etc. As you can see there may be multiple ways of approaching it. Give me some more information please.
