Excel/formula issue

Hi Tom

I have a range of cells “A1:C3”  In each cell there is some text.

I wish to merge all of the text in these cells into one statement.  I have used the following formula.  The first piece of text in cell “A1” is returned as “TRUE” The rest of the text is merged and arranged as I anticipated.  Could you shed some light on this?

=INDEX(StatementsRange,1,1),"   ",INDEX(StatementsRange,1,2),"   ",INDEX(StatementsRange,1,3),"   ",INDEX(StatementsRange,2,1),"   ",INDEX(StatementsRange,2,2),"   ",INDEX(StatementsRange,2,3),"   ",INDEX(StatementsRange,3,1),"   ",INDEX(StatementsRange,3,2),"   ",INDEX(StatementsRange,3,3))

Thanks in advance

Chris Mitchell

You first argument is

so that checks if the cell reference equals itself.  That should always return True.

Perhaps you should change that to a single  INDEX(StatementsRange,1,1) with no equal sign as in

=CONCATENATE(INDEX(StatementsRange,1,1),"   ",INDEX(StatementsRange,1,2),"   ",INDEX(StatementsRange,1,3),"   ",INDEX(StatementsRange,2,1),"   ",INDEX(StatementsRange,2,2),"   ",INDEX(StatementsRange,2,3),"   ",INDEX(StatementsRange,3,1),"   ",INDEX(StatementsRange,3,2),"   ",INDEX(StatementsRange,3,3))
