# Excel/formula issue

Question
Hi Tom

When I apply the following formula, I receive a "VALUE" error.

=COUNTIFS(U18:U1500,"<0",BY28:BY1509,">13")

Could you explain what I have doen wrong?

Range "U18:U1500" contains no formula but does contain conditional formatting.

Range "by28:by1528" contain this vlookup formula: =IFERROR(VLOOKUP(I41,Grade_Conv2,2,FALSE),"") but only cells by28:by51 have a number in them.

I have tested the countifs formula on a blank worksheet without formulas or conditional formatting present and it works well

Chris Mitchell,

As written, U18:U1500 covers 1483 cells
BY28:BY1509  covers 1482 cells.

they need to cover the same number of cells so perhaps

=COUNTIFS(U18:U1500,"<0",BY28:BY1509,">13")
should be

=COUNTIFS(U18:U1500,"<0",BY28:BY1510,">13")
