Excel/formula rewrite

Hi Tom

I have a range of cells: B18:B1518.  For the purposes of conditional formatting the following formula applies to this range.

I wish to add a condition to the above formulas

If cell H2,”SUM 2” then

I am unsure how to do this.  Could you help me with this?
Thanks in advance.

Chris Mitchell

Chris Mitchell,

One way would be:

=IF($H$2="SUM 2",AND($B18<>"",INDEX($J18:$O18,1,$A$4)>IF($A$4<=3,-2,-1)),AND($B18<>"",INDEX($P18:$U18,1,$A$4)>IF($A$4<=3,-2,-1)))

But it looks like you only want to change the Index range based on the text "SUM 2" being in H1 so you could just focus on that and make the formula smaller.

=AND($B18<>"",INDEX(IF($H$2="SUM 2",$J18:$O18,$P$18:$U$18),1,$A$4)>IF($A$4<=3,-2,-1))
