Question
Hi Bob,

Is there an easy way to highlight (bold) the subtotals for sales in the example below. Excel just seems to bold the name  subtotal and not the sales subtotal.

Many Thanks

Name   Goods   Sales
Bill   Oranges   150
Bill   Pears   220
Bill Total   370
Ann   Apples   95
Ann   Bananas   153
Ann   Oranges   241
Ann Total   489
Carol   Pears   86
Carol   Apples   360
Carol   Oranges   459
Carol   Bananas   177
Carol   Grapes   215
Carol Total   1297
Grand Total   2156

Answer
Conditional Formatting comes to the rescue. Highlight Column C (C1 will be the active cell), use Home/Conditional Formatting, select New Rule, select "Use a formula to determine which cells to format", enter this formula exactly:
=Right(B1,5)="Total"
Then click the Format button and select Bold. Click OK all the way out. You're done.
