Excel/Backup and Restore
Expert: Tom Ogilvy - 7/13/2004
QuestionHelp. I am using Excel 2000 and I need to get the data from my home computer to the computer at work. Previously I have done this through my accessories program. Unfortunately the new computer at work isn't recognizing the info on my zip. I then went into excel and tried to backup the portion that I need onto a floppy. When I attempted this it said the file was to large and to try a larger disk. The last time I backed up onto floppy it just told me when to insert a second disk. I am quitting this job and I am desperate to accomplish this task. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank You,
Anne
AnswerMost modern computers have a Writable CD drive. If you have windows XP as your operating system it should have the capability to setup you writable CD drive so you can drag and drop file onto it the same as any drive. If you don't have XP, then you drive probably came with some utility that would support this.
Once you are done, you will probably need to have the utility format the writable CD as a CD so it can be read by your CD drive at work.
