Excel - Excel Menu Editor

Expert: Bob Umlas - 9/26/2005

Question
I have a book on Using Excel Visual Basic for Applications. One of the chapters talks about modifying and/or making your own menus using the Menu Editor. I am using Excel 2000 in WIN 2000 and it does not seem to have this built in editor. Where can I get more information on the above and/or what do you now use instead to accomplish the same task?

Answer
Menu editor os pretty old technology and no longer exists. You can manually move items on & off toolbars by using view/toolbars/customize, then dragging tools from the command tab's commands listbox onto toolbars and/or dragging tools off the toolbars (which you can do from the get-go by alt dragging tools off the toolbar).
You can create new toolbars by clicking New from the Toolbars tab & then again dragging tools to it.
