Exporting & Importing Goods - Label and packaging for imprort items

Question
I have 2 questions
1. We are importing an 12vdc car adapter cord that is not labeled Made in China that is then being packaged here in the US with another item made in the US. This finished  package will then be sold at retail level. What would be the requirement for labeling of the finished package be since it contains both items being made in China and US.

2 If we are importing a electronic unit in a plain white box with no labels on it and then label the box in the US  for final sale which will have a made in china label on it would we possiblity run into customs problems upon entry? These units will be coming 9 per case and the case box will be label Made in China.

Answer
Hi John,

Please check our personal opinion below:

1. You could lable your final products "Made in US", because that's where the product final assembled. Just like the things in Boeing, you know many parts of a plane are from different country, but them label the plane "Made in US".   But if you open the chair in a plane, maybe you could see "Made in China" in the back part.

2. Your customs duty will needed to be paid once you received the goods from China, not while you are selling them there.

If you need find products and suppliers from China please contact our company, thanks!
