I am planning on purchasing some electronic devices from China. How will I be sure that the company I will be purchasing goods from will ship the products after I make the payments? Is there any kind of contract I should into? What if that company does not act in accordance to what stated in the contract? Please advise. Thank you very much.

Before we talking the question we have to point out a important fact that there is not a law or department can protect international trade very well.
So, you need be very carefully on payment, it's better do not send funds before you could trust them 100%. Many companys & websites selling iPhone,Nokia,Nike,Dell on internet, but some of them just scams, they will not send you anything or just send you a fake product. Even some of them has a fake company license. To sign a contract is only useful for the legit company but the bad ones will not care the terms.
Some buyers lost funds then come to us to ask a help, in fact it's so hard to get the funds back from those scams.
We suggest you use Escrow (https://www.escrow.com/) or some similar method to do the payment, which it's the third party to protect you and the seller.
