Family, Internal Medicine, General Medical Questions/abnormal eeg

Question
I had an abnormal EEG and was referred for an MRI and the result of this was normal.  Should I request further investigation regarding abnormal EEG?

Answer
Hi Anne,
The term “abnormal” is ambiguous and doesn’t specifically tell the problem. You’ve left a lot of your history out as to why you had an EEG in the first place. I can’t offer any comment based on the limited information you’ve so far provided. I’d be happy to re-evaluate this issue if you care to offer more specifics.
